Privacy policy
This page says plainly what a YAKUN account keeps, what is shown to others, and which cookies the website uses.
What your account keeps
- Your display name and your email address.
- A scrypt hash of your password, never the password itself.
- Your game settings, the side and character you pick, your rank (MMR), and when you were last online, so that friends can see who is online.
- Your friends, your friend and squad requests, the messages you send and receive, and your notifications.
- When you made the account and last logged in, and the rounds you play and their results once the game reports them.
What others can see
- Everyone can see the public leaderboard: display names, ranks, tiers and MMR.
- Players who are logged in can see your profile: name, side, character, rank, round stats, whether you are online and the activity the game reports.
- Messages are seen only by the two players in the conversation.
What it is used for
Only to run your account and the game’s website: logging in, the leaderboard, friends, messages and notifications. Nothing is sold or shared with advertisers.
The server writes a log of the requests it gets, with the address each came from, and briefly remembers addresses that try to log in or sign up many times, to stop password guessing.
Cookies
The website uses two cookies, both only for itself: yakun_session keeps you logged in (for up to 30 days, or until you log out), and yakun_preview remembers that you entered the preview password (for 30 days).
There are no tracking or advertising cookies.
The pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser fetches them from Google’s servers.
Deleting your account
Accounts can be deleted on request. Deleting removes your name, email, password hash, settings, friends, messages and notifications.
